SALSA CANDELA

 

Salsa Candela Nights are run by Jose Ferrera and John Solo. Together they bring a combination of exciting music and dance classes,with occasional guest DJs, teachers and performances. They always create a great friendly atmosphere. 

The music includes a combination of cuban salsa,son,rumba,bachata,merengue,kizomba,reggaeton etc. Everyone is welcome, even if you are a complete beginner, it is a great chance to learn latin dance and meet new friends

 

JOSE FERRERA

 

Jose Ferrera was born in Cuba. He studied Afro Cuban percussion from the age of 10. He joined Danza Libra an Internationally acclaimed Dance Music Company from Guantanamo in 1993. He first came to England on Tour with them in 2001 and then returned to live in Norwich in 2005. He has his own Cuban Salsa band Guateque who regularly perform in Norwich. Jose also teaches weekly cuban salsa and afrocuban percussion classes in Norfolk & Suffolk. Cuban Music and Dance is his life!

JOHN SOLOMON

 

John came to the UK from South Africa in January 2000. He started dancing Salsa a few months later. It was something very new and  the music was intoxicating.He started as a cross-body dancer, but was soon introduced to La Rueda which converted him to Cuban Salsa.John has been teaching for 9 years now and still has the 2-3 Clave beating through his heart.
